Bit of a flat day today, too wet to do a lot so I placed an order for some over-wintering garlic.  Planting in late summer while to soil is still warm and the sun is (should be!) shining gives the garlic cloves a kick start and they will be ready 4 weeks earlier than next year’s plantings.

I was totally gutted after seeing that my brother, Ken,  had managed to grow a sunflower that was taller than mine by at least three to four feet!
Roll on next year,  the challenge is on!
