Well, doesn’t time fly? 44 years ago today at about this time, (1200) Friday 7th Sept 1973, I was stood on platform 6 at Bristol Temple Meads Station waiting to get on a train to Plymouth and start my 23 year career in the Royal Navy! Don’t know why Mum was crying – it was me going away LOL.

Anyway, a quiet week so far up on the plot. All i have done is build a new compost bin, pick a few beans and corns and crop a 2kg Russian Yellow Marrow to make marrow pickle. The recipe for this is on the “Recipe” page on the menu bar up there at the top of the page ^^^^.
The compost bin is quite a clever design. The slats at the front are on an angle so all you have to do to dig out some compost is to pull a few slats off and dig away. No need to remove half of the bin like some other designs.
